Studio Practice

Twenty years of material inquiry

Working exclusively within unprimed Belgian linen and raw earth pigments, the studio maintains an uncompromising focus on physical presence and geological time.

Provenance & Process

Raw pigment on unprimed linen

Development of each series begins with raw mineral sourcing from volcanic deposits, ground marble, and lime washes. Rather than treating paint as an additive layer applied to a prepared surface, the process forces earth and fiber into a permanent structural bond.

This uninterrupted duration of full-time studio inquiry rejects synthetic acrylic finishes and digital shortcuts, returning the canvas to its foundational architectural reality and tactile honesty.

— Substrate

Hand-mixed dry pigments, volcanic ash, and unground marble dust staged on wooden studio tables under neutral archival illumination.
